Hot Christmas

Hi people!

I’m going to talk about my favorite date in the year, Christmas!!!. Nothing in the world can make me hate Christmas, I love it and always, under any conditions it is a perfect time and perfect day. I don’t know why, but I lost my mind when is Christmas, maybe this it’s come to my childhood. In Marchigüe (I never had been in other place) all the Christmas star to snow, all the people in the small town it’s happy. No, I lie, the heat was stifling and I can stand the heat because in the night I met up with my family in the grandma’s house. We had dinner, eating chicken with duchess potatoes and mushroom sauce, and then we eat ice cream to the dessert. After the dinner, go to for the gifts, with my family play “secret friend”, but the Santa bring gift to my little cousins.

I had forgotten that the previous night with my sister and my grandmother we do delicious “tail of monkey”, one with rum and other with “hot water”.  In the good night this is drinking, while it’s eating panettone, this it’s make for my father, because he has a bakery.  

This year I was a good girl and for that Santa give me many gifts, it’s natural that it should be so.

This topic is very interesting for me. The last time I thought a lot about the culture because in my opinion the language is the base of the culture. The Pagel idea’s has sense to me, when he talks about the begging of the need to survive. In him theory all depend to the evolution and for that reason all he say depend to the pass of the time. Currently in the world exist thousand languages, this difficult the international relations, is a problem and for that Pagel knows that we evolve to have one language to standardize. In my opinion him idea is very north American, I want to say neoliberal, is thinking from the globalization progress, maybe the people in the future can have two languages, the universal and the own. I think that because the people tend to create their own languages, for example the “COA” and the disciplines also have its own codes. The language is part of the identity of the individual, for that is necessary to understand this like a need.

                The true is: I don’t know web sites in English; I knew the www.santiagotimes.cl the last week in this class, but this site don’t give to the opportunity to practice. In the http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/ you can learn your own tools and the page. The site has many activities; you select them and depending upon your needs. I check the following activities: In the option “grammar challenge” you can take the challenge. You have to complete the sentences and then you can check your answers. Also you can read news and hear the vocabulary; its words are in black in the text. The words are to repeat twice. In the site you can download information, activities, news, etc.

                All in the site appear in English, for that reason is necessary that you understand the language, just this way you can using. In moment was hard to work, because has taken me a lot of work. In my opinion this sites are important and useful for the class.

When the music is over

Hello everybody! It’s been a long time since the last post, also many things has happened related to this break, but I prefer to don’t speak about that now, the topic is complex.

 In my opinion this semester is exceptional and rare, because the length of this term is very short, this means that the subjects will be compressed, any way this is our reality. I really like my subjects; but I like only four subjects out of five (its obligatory five)… I have to take one just to complete the credits and It’s a very annoying situation for me, because the subject offer is very poor. In any case I hope that I could approve all of my subjects, because I like this career very much.  

In the begging, going to university in summer Is not a real problem for me, but now, when I feel that the Christmas eve is near, I miss my family and my home and it’s kind of nostalgic, I hope that this feel may ends when the festivities had already gone.

Strawberry fields forever

Hello everybody!

Today, I’m going to talk about the experience to grow up in the field. Before I came to live in Santiago, my perception about the people as Chileans was different, because the country people perceive the nation in a different way. I think they are more nationalist, this confuse to me, because I considered that be nationalist to entail be intolerant with the other Chileans that grow up in a City and the foreign.  The nationalist is not a good feel because forget that before be Chileans all are person. For that all have an equal to be listening in our opinions. Is very regular that the country people laugh at when somebody not accord with her way to see the life. Well, not everything is so bad, the people also is honest and warm, but when grow up believe in different things is hard.

In the little towns in the south of this country the vegetarian don’t exist, the culture about to eat the animals is a rule, about this there cannot be the slightest doubt, this sound hard, but is the reality, the animals are bring up with love and dedication but all the time in all conscience that to be eating. I can to notice that this way is terrible but is a part of my life. I think is very good to be the diversity, I can understand two positions; I hope that the all people understand the different ways to live the life.

Silvestre or Wild

Hi teacher and classmate!

I’m going to talk about my uncle, He appear in the photograph. Really he isn’t my relative, the relationship is because my grandma has a cousin, my aunt Teresa, she married with Silvestre, the man on the photo.  

Since I was a child I’m very close to marriage, they don’t have sons, for that reason they feel a special affection for me and I feel the same. They are very interesting, both are history teachers and travel around the world, when I visit them have a long and entertaining conversations. I really love go your house.

Last year my uncle asked my sister and me that we help to buy a computer and then teach computing. My sister doesn’t live in Santiago for that I continue with the class alone. My uncle learned very fast, considering they are 70 years old. The experience was very funny, He loves to discover new things and I enjoyed teach and to share de progress. I have an analogous camera and I took the first photo. I want to register the moment that shows my uncle happy in her notebook. I take the photograph in a late the past year. I like this picture because I love my uncle.

The second photo is a “screenshot” of a conversation that we have in skype, the photo shows that the class was successful.

Students Movement

I believe in education as the way to achieve social equality. This affect me because I think is necessary a better system of education, is necessary equal opportunities and equal terms, because all the people is equal in condition, human condition. All people should have access to education because they would get tools for developing life. Now is necessary a better system of scholarship, is not fair the indebtedness for the education, I think this is a right. For this I went to the march and I try to go all the march and adhere to the strikes is a way to attract attention of the authorities and the community.

I think the government as an immediate step should be to expand the scholarship system and to regulate and to control private university, also change the system to enter at the university. This action would be temporary because what we really need is free education.

The media are important for public opinion for this reason would be good that her more to objective in their information

I think the problem of the environment is as important as education, would be nice if people would realize that. it is good that the citizens are reacting, I hope that education is an issue that matters to all.
